"The time has come," the walrus said,"to talk of many things:of shoes and ships and sealing wax, of cabbbages and kings, and why the sea is boiling hot and whether pigs have wings."

FEET

Feet.  We all have them, but have you ever taken a good look at them?  Although a podophile would disagree, feet are U*G*L*Y.  Look at your own feet.  Do you have short stubby toes or are they the long ones that would need their own zipcode?  Nail fungus?  Ingrown toenails?  Athlete's foot?  Calluses?  Corns?  Plantar's warts?

Let's face it.  Our feet take a beating.  We cram them into shoes that are too small or don't give us room to wiggle our toes (one of my favorite things to do, by the way, although I'm sure you probably didn't need to know that).  Women even wear stiletto heels, which must be torture.

<<------  And dancer's feet!  Have you ever seen them?  I mean, look at these little tootsies.  My pedicurist would cry and definitely book two hours to work on these.

And these,  ------------- > > > >
these are my feet.  Compared to the dancer's feet above, I guess they don't look too bad although there was a while back in another life when I was ashamed of them and would uncover them only at the beach or the pool.  I've realized, however, that my feet have done a pretty good job of carrying me around for these many years and it's time to let the foot out of the shoe.  Yes, my footsies had a few traumatic experiences, like a broken toe or two and let's not forget that wonderful medical procedure that had me getting blue dye injected between each toe and then a nice incision made on the top of the foot followed by the insertion of a wonderfully tiny little catheter.
It's almost sandal wearing season, so something had to be done about the condition of my feet.  Buff away the calluses, clean out the toe jam, put on a bright coat of polish and greet the spring.

Yes, I still have funny looking toes, as has been pointed out to me by more than one person, but they'll do.  They still carry me here and there and back again and I try not to put them in my mouth too often, although it happens now and again.
